Amarath Pfeiffer does primarily aviation and travel writing. Myself, I have already done a confession of a desire for flying on private jet.
There is something about flying on a private jet. Of course, traveling a lot I have been subjected to aircraft of all sizes. When I think of private jets I think of the Gordon Gekko jet on Wall Street. Then again, I have sat on both jets and prop planes that had a row of seats on either side of an aisle to seat only maybe sixteen people. One trip returning from Hermosillo, Mexico I was asked to sit in the back of the plane to redistribute the weight of the plane. A bit embarrassing, but at least I wasn’t asked to buy an extra seat for myself. So, I realize that a private jet could be just a mere exercise in function- getting one from A to B. That is not what I would be seeking. No, it is the luxury of flight and so someday, Lord willing, I will fly on that excessive aircraft with reclining seats, galley, bathroom, etc. to myself or my travel party.
Interestingly, tribal jets are becoming more common as tribes are owning aircraft. It has its upside, but then again with tribal member jealousy it probably is also a political storm. Even Fortune 500 CEO’s are criticized for flying on executive jets, I can only imagine what elected tribal leaders would run into. Still, I am also seeing that tribes are getting into aviation as a business endeavor such as an air ambulance, parts manufacturer, or as commercial carrier. The Chickasaw even are impacting the Ada, Oklahoma airport with their fleet presence. They now have a seat on the airport’s board.
