Out of the number of things I am doing online Twitter is one of them. Working on a few different models, but my twitter.com/xriot Twitter page is where I am trying gain massive amount of followers.
The best way to do that is to be a personality and give people a reason to follow you. Oddly, the largest personalities with massive of followers- I fail to see why people would follow them. Your Ashton Kutcher or Ashley Tisdale have millions of people following them. I don’t know what they say that is worth following the but apparently millions of people glean something of value from following these celebrities. Myself, the only celebrity I felt worth following and had anything worth saying was Darth Vader.
Not being a celebrity gaining followers takes online tools. The one I enjoy the most is Twiends. The reason I enjoy Twiends is that it provides me the option to gain followers without having to follow others. There are actions I can take or simply pay to gain followers. But there is still the option to follow others to have them follow you. Twiends is based on a points based system, use points to get followers. There are different actions one can take like referring others (hint!) to gain points, you can get points by following others, or simply pay for points. That is another great feature of Twiends is the free or pay options.
So, for anyone on Twitter who would like a few extra followers or a whole truckload of followers, they need to checkout Twiends now.
The most prolific and arguably the most powerful form of marketing is one’s business card. Every business professional needs a business card so people can make contact with them. There are all manners and styles one can use for their business card from the very full and ornate to the simple and minimalist. However, my opinion is that a business card must stand out. The measure of a good business card is when it is handed to somebody that they make a comment about the card. Then one can know that the business card is unique enough. To achieve this it doesn’t take fancy graphics but a bit of creativity. That could be a matter of adding a unique catchphrase or playing with one’s title.
One good tip when passing over a business card is to personalize it in some manner. One good technique is to purposefully leave off the cell phone number on the business card. This gives an opportunity to write the number on the back of the card, making the card more valuable to the recipient. Not only was there time taken to write something additional on the card, but also something perceived as personal was conveyed. This will keep the card from immediately be thrown away and the business card now has value over other cards that person might receive.
Not enough space in Twitter or face book to pour my… rage? frustration? consternation? But the University of Kansas has saw fit to hire Turner Gill as the new football head coach. KU fired Mark Mangino for apparently yelling and poking a linebacker in the chest. Woody Hayes has to be rolling over in his grave. Apparently NCAA division 1-A football coaches can no longer poke a player. Heck, in the eighth grade I had my facemask yanked, helmet slapped, and was kicked in the butt by coaches (sometimes all in the same practice). That was before the horrors of high school ball. OK, so political correctness and a mediocre season did Mangino in.
But to replace him with a Turner Gill? Had to look him up as coach for the University of Buffalo and his “accomplishments” are an 8-5 season in one of four seasons. The other three years are losing seasons including this past year. Then a MAC championship to go along with that one winning season. That championship season (or the losing seasons) are playing powerhouses like Bowling Green, Akron, Kent State, Miami (the one with the OH in parentheses), and then playing mighty Ball State in the championship game. KU passed over Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh and East Carolina’s Skip Holtz for Turner Gill?
Regardless, I am a Sooners fan even with our 7-5 record and upcoming Sun Bowl appearance. Guess, I just have an affection for Kansas having lived in Lawrence (my favorite college town) for a bit and for Mangino as a fellow fat man. I just don’t get how KU decides on a Turner Gill as a good choice.
The University of Oklahoma football season has been a cold one (figuratively speaking), something we fans are not use since the 1990’s. But as the weather is actually is turning cold and a hard weather is predicted, staying snuggled up and warm is possible in a Snuggie, the popular blanket with sleeves. The fun part is that it now comes in University themes including OU! With the holidays approaching, this would be a perfect gift for an office party or for any OU fan. It would really warm the hearts of Sooner fans out in the wilderness, far from home.
Snuggies themselves were a big hit when they hit the market. You probably seen reports of people doing pub crawls and meet-ups as Snuggie Parties. One bit of trivia is As Seen On TV guru A.J. Khubani, the mind behind Telebrands, passed on the Snuggie and thought it wouldn’t sell. The same guy who brought us the Ped Egg, AmberVision sunglasses, and Magic Hangers, passed on the Snuggie.
This LiveJournal blog was started as a sales and marketing blog. Broader in focus than the minority business blog. But apparently I did a a lot of writing when Billy May’s TV show, Pitchmen, was on. A favorite show of mine. But I seem to like all business shows- Pitchmen, King of Cars, The Apprentice, Sharktank, etc.

The Throw Enough Some, Will Stick Wordpress blog is a travel blog. Give some thoughts about travel and the like. After the post have been adding links but will change that like the other free blogs to a more contextual format. It is one of the least updated blogs.
Trailfire is a website where one puts a set of like minded web sites in an order of visitation. Trailfire calls this a “trail.” The trail sends people to the websites in order to visit and then if desired to vote or comment on. The pages are placed in frame and there is a small popover each page to help keep every one the “trail.” Visit the XRiot Trailfire page. On the page you can see my trail for bacon. This was Jim Gaffigan inspired and his bit on bacon finishes the trail.
Having already posted about Arturo F. Laclady writings here, wanted to write specifically the www.aflaclady.com website. It is a web site redesigned for large women. Its original intent was dating advice for women and you can still find articles in the earlier posts.
